MARINA NEWS
FLOAT PLANS
Just a reminder to our boaters, please file a float plan when departing on an overnight trip. Float plans are available on the PIYC web site and in the Marina Office. Please notify us if you are going on a cruise for the day, on an overnight cruise or if your boat will be removed from the marina for service. Boat thefts have increased over the last year in Florida so please contact the Marina Office. We inventory the marina twice daily and it would eliminate a phone call on our part to confirm the location of your boat.
PUMP-OUTS
Don’t forget holding tank pump-outs are available at no charge. Please give us as much advance notice as possible. We also recommend a holding tank odor additive to keep the odor to a minimum in your boat.
BILGE SOCKS
All boats in the marina are required to have oil absorbant socks in your bilge. There should be one under each engine. You can purchase bilge socks in our ships store.
TIDE CHARTS
There are tide charts and a daily marine weather forecast posted on the chart table in the chart room. This same forecast is also available on your weather channel on your marine VHF radio.
DOCKSIDE ASSISTANCE
Remember dockside assistance is available. Just call us on your marine VHF radio. On the weekends, we only have one captain on duty and you may have to stand by a few minutes if the captain is on a shuttle run to the beach. Don’t forget we have a complementary ice machine for our members in our laundry room in the lower level of the club. If you would like us to bring ice to your boat just give us a call.
WIGGINS PASS
When navigating Wiggins Pass, be advised that there is shoaling between day markers green #1 and red #2. There is a sandbar going across the channel and at low tide you have a little less than 4 feet in this area. VIEW CHART
